Nancy Jane Yates Merck, of Mauldin, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016, peacefully in her home after a brief illness.
Mrs. Merck was born March 20, 1939 in Liberty, SC to the late John Joseph Yates and Ethel Sanders Yates. She retired from the Greenville Hospital System and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is her spouse of 59 years, Marshall Glenn Merck; three daughters, Lynn McCarter (Hollis) of Fountain Inn, Lisa Wamack (Doug) of Evans, Ga. and Jennifer Glover (Eric) of Spartanburg; sisters, Kathryn Chastain of Piedmont and Johnnie Hunter of North Augusta; brothers, Stanley and Wallace Yates of Norris; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Johnson.
Funeral Services will be 11am Tuesday, December 13th at Fairview Presbyterian Church, officiated by her nephew, Rev. Andy Hunter of North Augusta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
