Obituary of Alyce Taylor

Alyce Louise Lee Taylor, 77, widow of Douglas C. Taylor, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 15, 2021. Mrs. Taylor was born in Asheville, NC to the late James Porter Lee and Helen Greene Taylor. She retired from Frances’ Produce and was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Piedmont. She loved being “Nana” to all kids, especially to all of Taylor’s friends. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jane McGlothlin and husband Paul, and Theresa Moore; Pam Stephens Steadings, whom she raised as one of her own; her pride and joy, granddaughter Taylor Moore; the first ones that made her a Nana, Stacy Seigler and Jeremy Stephens; and a niece that was like her sister, Carol Ann Gillespie. She was predeceased by two brothers, James Lee and William Lee; and two sisters, Mary Sue Lee and Betty Vaughn. Memorial services will be 4 o’clock Sunday at Southside Baptist Church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. Flowers are to be delivered to Southside Baptist Church. The family would ask that all in attendance for Alyce’s services wear masks and practice social distancing.
