Obituary of David "Mike' Kibbe

David “Mike” Edward Kibbe, 83, husband of the late Dolora “Lucy” Lucille Carlton Kibbe, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2021.
Mr. Kibbe was born in Steamburg, NY to the late Arthur Eugene Kibbe and Grace Levica Fisher Kibbe. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of VFW Post 1845 and a mason with Masonic Lodge #311 in Simpsonville. He retired from Union Carbide (Kemet) and was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, James “David” Kibbe and wife Elaine; two daughters, Teresa Simpson and husband Tony, and Sandy Holcombe and husband Layton; a brother, Eugene “Rooster” Kibbe and wife Lola; two sisters, Louise Conklin and husband Bob and Vera Harrington; seven grandchildren, Michael Kibbe and fiancé Jennifer Neal, Sandra Matthews and husband Ed, Jacob Kibbe, Lindsay Morgan and husband Jonathan, Tristen Brookshire, Diedre Ross and husband Jonathan, and Nathan Simpson and wife Jen; and six great-grandchildren, Aaron Kibbe, Lee Morgan, Austin Gault, John Page, Joseph Page, and Josh Moon. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Logan and Laura Kibbe.
Funeral services, with Masonic Rites, will be 2 o’clock Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Anthony McCaleb. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mike’s caretaker, Jennifer Neal for the devoted care given, the loving staff at Pruitt Hospice and to Dr. Jana Bass and staff at Cedar Lake Animal Hospital for the care given to “Rosie” during Lucy and Mike’s declining health. The love and compassion given during this time will always be remembered.
