Obituary of James Harvey Barnes

James “Jim” Harvey Barnes, 87, husband of 58 years to Madeline Trimble Barnes, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 22, 2021.
Mr. Barnes was born in Chepachet, RI to the late Fredrick Allen Barnes and Clara Peckham Barnes. He was a US Navy Lt JG, serving from 1958-62 as an EOD. Jim obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and traveling with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Jeff Barnes and wife Letitia and Tim Barnes; daughters Debbie Griffin and husband Ron Jr., Brenda Page and husband Bobby and Pam Blizzard and husband Alan; brother, John Barnes; a treasured niece, Donna Gudelski and husband Mike; nine grandchildren, Melissa Lydic and husband Matt, Ron Griffin III and wife Rachel, Henry Barnes, Sam Page, Hannah Blizzard, Scott Page and wife Danielle, Gretchen Blizzard, Lukas Blizzard, and Margaret Page; two great-grandchildren, Mason Lydic and Madison Lydic; and his beloved furry friend, Copper.
He was predeceased by five brothers, Raymond Barnes, Edgar Barnes, Robert Barnes, Donald Barnes and David Barnes; and two sisters, Nancy Vaughn and Helen Galichant.
