Obituary of Billy Joe Ballew

Billy Joe Ballew, 44, husband of Amanda Leona Goldsmith Ballew for eleven years, won his battle and went home on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
Mr. Ballew was born in Greenville to Cecil Lee “Rusty” Ballew and Helen Hensley Wallace Chapman. He was a 1998 graduate of Greenville High School, where he served in the ROTC. Billy was a custom toy maker and the owner and operator of Pop Rox Customs. He was known throughout the custom toy community and was the recipient of several awards for his work. Billy was very creative and artistic; hence, he was a pop culture and comic wiz. He enjoyed Emo music and singing. He was a collector of horror movies and memorabilia. Billy loved his fur babies and was affectionately known as the “pet whisperer.”
Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are a father-in-law, George Goldsmith III; a brother-in-law, George Goldsmith IV with wife Taryn; a mother-in-law, Karen Cavender with husband Tommy; a brother, Eddie Wallace; a sister, April Ballew; a cousin, Suzie Knight; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Helen Eunice Mathis; and a brother, Mitchell Wallace
A Celebration of Billy’s Life will be 6 o’clock Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Dr. Rev. Sandra Smith.
