Obituary of Charlie Mangham
Charles Alfred “Charlie” Mangham, 78, husband of Brenda Faye Jones Mangham for 32 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 24, 2023.
Mr. Mangham was born in Roswell, NM to the late Hugh Hamilton Mangham and Florence Lucile Creglow Mangham. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves and retired from Cryovac after 30 years in sales, where he was affectionately known to friends as “Chickenlips”. He attended Fellowship Greenville Church. Charlie enjoyed fishing, reading, playing cards, yardwork and traveling.
Two of his favorite pastimes were his monthly Cryovac Retirees Breakfast Club meeting, and his weekly card games. He relished in being Grandpa Charlie to his grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, James Mangham with wife Holly, Mike Jacobsen with wife Cindy, Bob Jacobsen, and Scott Smith with wife Lindsay; a daughter, Stephanie Smith; a brother, Tom Mangham with wife Penny; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and dad to his fur baby Ziggy. He was predeceased by a sister, Diane Hardy.
A Celebration of Charlie’s Life, with Military Honors, will be 3 o’clock Sunday, December 10th, at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
