Obituary of Chris McRae

Randall Christopher “Chris” McRae, 41, husband of Kelly Cunningham McRae, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 27, 2020. Chris was born in Valdosta, GA to Randall Davis and Susanne Mercil McRae. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in five combat tours in Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia. Chris graduated with honors from the University of Washington, where he earned a PhD in psychology and was currently a student at Liberty University. He had a passion for counseling and people. Surviving, in addition to this wife and parents, are a daughter, Vera McRae; two brothers, Chadwick McRae (Hunter) and Joshua McRae; Godparents, Tom and Judie Fallon; an uncle, Joe Mercil (Nola); three aunts, Mary Smith (Billy), Betty Lynn Johnson (Jimmy) and Lisa McRae; two nieces, Ryleigh McRae and Caitlyn McRae and 12 cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Christina McRae and his paternal and maternal grandparents. A Memorial Service, with Military Honors, will be 1pm Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
