Marcia, Drew, Erin and Molly and extended Family,
I worked with John at Jacobs from the time I stepped into the office and up until I relocated to Savannah. I really enjoyed speaking to John about his family. I may have only met you all once or twice but I felt that I had an intimate knowledge of your life! I looked up to John because I wanted a family and the way he described you all I wanted a family like his! I eventually had boy and girl and We both shared significant memories with each other on the progression of our loved ones. He always spoke passionately about you all. He even came to a ballgame that my son was playing in and Drew was umping behind the plate. There were times my belly ached I laughed so hard on some of the stories he would tell. The story on when his SUV was taken on a joy ride the night he kept telling his dog to quiet down made us laugh. I believe in God and I believe God put John in my path due to His Grace and love for me. John's personality was the medicine I needed. He always knew how to lift everyone’s spirits. He made a deep impression on me and I will always remember John as a person who gave me good fatherly advice. He was a role model and someone I was honored to know. May God give you all the peace knowing that John is preparing your home with him when you are reunited in heaven. My heart aches that he was taken too soon, but he is in a place of glory where there is constant joy and love. God needed another angel and he got a good one when he took John. I continue to pray for God to give you strength and peace in this very difficult time. God Bless you all.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers to the Stafford family. Our sons played and grew up together. After they were grown, I would run into John at Publix or around Simpsonville. He always had a smile, would ask how Anthony and my husband were doing, and we would reminisce about when the kids were young. God bless you.

Shelly and I just want to send a heartfelt sympathy to Marcia, Molly and Drew. We miss John so much and know y’all do. He always had a smile on his face. We had so much fun bowling with him. We shared laughs and he and I told stories and reminisced about the good ole days. We also spent time with John when our sons played baseball together. We really had a great time and John and I even coached one year together. There was no doubt that John loved his kids and grandkids. Our prayers and thoughts are with y’all.

So sorry to hear of John's passing and my thoughts and prayers are with the whole Stafford family. I have enjoyed working off and on with John over the last 40 years and have enjoyed on many occasions getting together for golf, softball, bowling which he was so amazingly good at. During work and our after-work activities, John always brightened my day, always had a smile and a contagious laugh, which I will truly miss a lot. Will miss you John

In a world where it takes a while to get to know people, and ensure there is not a hidden motive for their actions, every now and then you meet a sincere straight shooter with a heart of gold. A person that says it as it is and expresses exactly how he feels it, with the best intentions. Laid back but not a pushover. A person that truly wanted you to feel at ease and would give you the shirt off his back. I just wish that he had been a little more generous on the pool table as he was with his shirts, cause he sure put some whoopin's on me!!!! I will never forget the gleam in his eyes and ever present smile as his grandchildren would show him something they did or something they were playing with. Or him happily talking about an upcoming family trip, a truly great man that has left a place in my heart that will never be replaced. Rest in peace my friend, and may God bless and protect your family, as I will do everything i can in the meantime.

John Stafford was a great man who loved his children dearly. A few weeks ago we got to talk at the golf course. He was spending time with Drew and comparing me being out there with my daughter to the times we had coaching Drew back in 11-12 year old baseball. It was so much fun back then being around sports with his child and he told me to enjoy every minute of it. It was his favorite thing to do... until he said he got to become a grandfather! I hope the family knows how many of us in the community loved being around him all these years.
